John Mulder – featured artist

John is a representational artist from the Hermitage Valley in Swellendam and works primarily in oil and acrylics, often combining the two mediums. His favorite subject matter is the South African landscape and natural surrounds with its emotive beauty which he tends to portray in a slightly impressionist way by making use of a painting knife or brushes.
The opportunities afforded me to paint with and look over the shoulders of a number of accomplished artists over the years was invaluable in my growth as an artist and for this I am eternally grateful. I was never one for formal tuition and to this day cherish the opportunity to share with other artists of all levels of proficiency in a group environment.” e-mail:
